Dont Forget!

The darker shades of khaki are preferable to the lighter shades. Camouflage clothing is perfectly acceptable. Try to avoid noisy materials.

We use 220v electricity and provide safe converter plugs for your convenience. The converters available for purchase in the USA do not work in SOUTH Africa (a country), but could well be suitable for other parts of the continent of AFRICA.

Travel Tips

Ensure that your travel documents are in order. You need only a passport for access to South Africa.

Plan your flights way in advance and let your Outfitter know immediately; this will ensure the smooth running of your safari.

Please ensure that your Temporary Rifle importation documents are completed in good time. There is a link on our web page for this.

If you are planning to do any side trips/tours, that involve an overnight stay, please inform your Outfitter of this in good time as places like the Kruger National Park are often booked up way in advance.

MONEY AND PAYMENT AT THE END OF YOUR SAFARI

For final payment please bring cashiers cheques. We cannot unfortunately process payment through credit cards, but all retail outlets in the country accept these and all you need do is inform your bank before you leave the US, that you will be using the card in South Africa. It is perfectly safe to bring some US$ along with you.

Cash in ZAR (South African Rands) can easily be withdrawn from the numerous ATM's across the country. The general rule of thumb regarding cost to you, is 1% of the total transaction.

You may also make an electronic transfer for the guaranteed portion of your safari (your accommodation) in advance of the safari. This is the most cost effective way of doing things.
